Graecis Σπάδων, ἀπὸ τȏυ ςπᾷν, i. e. ab avellendo, sicut et spadix, de qua voce modo dictum, idem cum Eunucho est, quam vocem vide. A castrato in eo differt, quod huic colis et testes, illi testes solum, aut nervi, e quibus hi pendent, eslent evulsi. Atque his Spadonibus nobiliores olim apud Romanos mulieres, quod parere nollent, nubere solebant, uti Iuvenalis notat carpitque Sat. 1. v. 22. Cum tener uxorem ducat spado -- et prolixius, Sat. 6. v. 366. et seqq. sed Et Eunomiani Spadones dicti, Constitut. 7. Cod.
